Opening Title Sequence

Opening Title Sequence

For the opening title sequence task, we were asked to produce a title for ' CSI: South Norwood'. We had to film and edit the beginning of this fictional show. We were given a day to complete it in groups of 4, including all filming and editing, although their was some footage of London available for us to use. The task helped me to become more confident with editing, and recap on the parts I was unsure of. I also learnt how to put music over the overall sequence, cancelling out other sounds.

The title sequence that influenced ours was the opening of CSI: Miami, and we took some of our ideas from theirs.

Preliminary Task

Preliminary Task-

For the preliminary task, we had to create a continuity task, from filming and editing a character. In the task we had to include, someone walking through a door, sitting in a chair and dialogue. We also had to make sure we included the editing techniques such as; match on action, shot reverse shot and the 180 degrees.

In my group, we decided our filming task would be a parents evening, where the father of the child walked into the room, sat down and engaged in conversation with the teacher. This was so i could include all three elements required.

Once editing i was able to experiment and adjust some of the techniques from the footage i'd taken. Making sure i had accurate slide transitions and cuts.

Overall i was pleased with our editing, but for areas of improvement, we should have filmed more footage for the scenes, worked better on our camera handling, and made sure we didnt cut it so short.
